Letter For...
This is a letter for maybe you. or him. her. them. who? ha ha.
Letters From Readers, a Mexican musician, producer, Gerardo will release his first LP and it's named "Dot Dash". dot dash. sounds good. dot, and dash. I think it contains so many expectation. expectation. it was already in "The Live Sessions EP". and then a little long time came soon. and now, finally its expectation will bloom. or spark. oh, this is no relation with this talking, but the title "Dot Dash" reminds me DC comics' title, "Flashpoint". but I never read DCs. why I reminded this?
anyway, letter goes like this...
"Blackmail"
A new direction. think; one night, no cloud, gathered, one point. beat sings. beat chants. then dispersed.
"Tape Forward"
This title is everything. but more interesting things than that, is the tunes between changing side to side. it's so experimental. it's like this. "fast", "slow", "fast", "another slow", "fast". all the "fast" things are from the same line. again I say it's so experimental. literally it's experimental. I feel it's for "Verano". fast threatening experimentation for "Verano". I feel that threatening atmosphere flows every lines.
"Yerbah"
This one's introduction makes me feel like a little Classical Hawaiian Folk sounds. maybe that's strings sound. soon another sound like using in SF movies comes. then snare sound like marching bands comes. and… beat starts. all the elements bring me very nervous feelings. later, piano sound join it and I… I… I can't keep myself natural self. but it's… fun thing. very.
"Enok"
Starts with flute, and here too, threatening atmosphere covers whole lands. as if he has been urged by something. but by what? flute sounds like transient rest. or it's opposite?
"Atmoesfera"
Still threatening atmosphere. bang bong. baba bong. go slip through the gap of the wave. watch out, suddenly slammed.
"Zeiss"
…so I said, again and again, in every scenes of this record, I feel some threatening atmosphere. and I think it's all gathered in this song. and this one is very Letters From Readers. this song symbolizes Letters From Readers very very. and also, this song is definitely new. when I heard his 1st EP "Warm Sessions EP", I thought that it's very cinematic. and this song too. if using any of his song in the film, it's, I think, it'll be so nice reminder to any relation between the world in the film and world that is real around you.
"Sevens 1"
Some scratch and sounds like crowd. then threatening atmosphere comes. I can say that, it's long version of the first part of "Exercise B". or just say, Exercise C. but yes it's completely new thing. it's Letters From Readers' third phase. a brand-new shock.
"Verano"
Rock n roll. fast, strong, and strange. beats. with threatening air. synthe as a thin needle. sometimes, classical. rock fast, then roll.
"Katneep"
A song. (song that featured maybe Chelsea TK's amazing, cool voice.) and it's definitely cinematic too. cinematic. and here, threatening atmosphere will clear up gradually. and then maybe you feel more better than before you heard this LP. but now, I feel more, more any feelings. but I don't say what it is. just you should find "your" feelings. I say ordinary thing, but, if you listen this LP, maybe it'll be your LP.
"Otamatune"
Once we heard this song on the At At Records' last autumn compilation "Fire, Maths & Magic". so I can set this song on the position like "First Single Song". but this LP version ends naturally than compilation version. this song features Otamatone, Japanese Electrical Instruments by Meiwa Denki. I think he uses it very naturally in this song. and very effectively. I remembered. yes, a year ago, in early version of this song, it was already exist. a threatening atmosphere.
It isn't an order of "Dot Dash" real tracklist. this is an order of "I like" or "How about this?". just that's it.
last, I want to say,
You did it!
