──so, at first i want you to tell me about the band, Lavatch.members, how the band started, or something.
Marco: Ok we are Lavatch from Cologne, Germany. We are five piece hardcore band. The band consists of former members of Engrave (Jochen, gt), Coming Up For Air (Ihsan, bs), Sword Of Grayskull (its me, Marco, vo), Jannis (dr), and Robert (gt). The band started 2005, after the break up of Engrave. After some line up changes Ihsan and Marco. completed the line up in Sept. 2008. We just got signed by the small german label RPHC.
──what kind of music do you like, listen or did you heard?
Marco: We like all kind of music which comes from the bottom of the heart. We are listening to some kind of hardcore/punk stuff, sometimes even metal, haha. We are influenced by bands like Every Time I Die, Norma Jean, Modern Life Is War, and many many more.
──tell me what atmosphere your local music scene.
Marco: Our music scene here is very creative. here are so many good bands! but the kids are always looking what the big us bands are doing, so its a kind of hard to get attention. but its absolutely ok, we are playing so many shows with so many great dudes and their cool music. just having fun.
──tell me about the '08 s/t ep "Lavatch".
The EP was recorded with our old line up, so I can only tell you what the other guys were telling me. Robert played the bass on this record, Stefan the guitar and Benny screamed his lungs out for this record. They recorded 5 songs and I really love the sound of the songs. Some songs were written in the studio and so it was little bit chaos. But they did well haha.
──do you have any recommend bands? or have close band?
Marco: There are so many good bands we really like. We just toured the last weekends with our friends Unizoo. All the other bands we really like, you'll find at our top friends at myspace.
──how do you think about Japan?
Marco: We talked about Japan a couple of days ago (no joke!). Everyone in this band would love to see Japan with his own eyes, cause we heard so many things about Japan and everything sounds so interesting. We would love to take that experience of our own. We really believe it would be cooler to tour Japan than the USA. If anyone would like to see us, book us a tour, or do our record in Japan, hahaha.
──If you have something to say, please say anything to Japanese or reader/listener.
Marco: We are speechless that someone in Japan is interested in what we got say. We hope you are all doing fine and have no worries but stupid things! If you like us, please drop us a line! Gochisosama!!!!!
──thank you very very much too, Marco!
